TUNE INTO FASHION
Music is the pulse of my everyday life, and Afrobeats holds a special place in my heart. This is why I decided to center my DNA project around Afrobeats, one of my favourite music genres.
This project is especially close to my heart because I aspire to be both a designer and a DJ one day, and merging music with fashion is a key goal for me.
I’m working to create a Generation Z-inspired representation of Afrobeats through this capsule collection.
My target audience includes fellow music lovers, musicians, and DJs, regardless of gender;this collection is designed to fit everyone.
Fela Aníkúlápó Kútì was a Nigerian musician and political activist. He is the principal innovator of a Nigerian music genre. Afrobeats is a style he largely created, and is a complex fusion of signature driving drum beat rhythms, traditional African drum beats, and traditional Nigerian and African chants. Afrobeats doesn't exist without Fela Kuti, he is afrobeats and afrobeats is him.
